DZ HYP publishes Green Bond Reporting 2022

One year after issuing its first Green Mortgage Pfandbrief, DZ HYP reports for the first time comprehensively on the use of the proceeds of its Green Pfandbriefe, as well as their expected climate impact, as part of its Green Bond Reporting 2022.
The proceeds raised by DZ HYP through the issuance of Green Pfandbriefe are used exclusively to finance and refinance assets that have a clear environmental benefit.
As of 31 December 2022, DZ HYP finances 12,183 green buildings in the amount of € 8,470 million. Thereof, € 6,079 million are part of the mortgage cover pool and can be refinanced via Green Pfandbriefe.
The assessment of the climate impact was carried out in cooperation with Drees & Sommer, a renowned consultancy firm. As part of the assessment, the energy efficiency of the Green Buildings is first assessed using sustainability documents, and then compared to the average energy efficiency of comparable properties. Compared to national reference buildings, the Green Building financed by DZ HYP saves an estimated 77,609 tonnes of CO2 annually.
