DGNB awards DZ HYP building in Hamburg
23.05.2025
As part of modernization and expansion measures, DZ HYP has received the “Silver” certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the renovation of its building at its main location in Hamburg.
The council awards this certification to buildings that meet the highest standards in terms of ecology, economy, and sociocultural quality. DZ HYP received the award for, among other things, improving the efficiency of the heating system and the associated reduction in overall consumption in the building.
The DGNB certification thus recognizes DZ HYP's efforts to significantly optimizing the office property, which dates from 1982, in two ways: In addition to reducing energy consumption, emissions have also been successfully and sustainably reduced.
At the certificate presentation ceremony, board member Jörg Hermes emphasized: “From the use of sustainable materials and renewable energy sources to the creation of healthy working environments, the renovation of this existing building demonstrates that sustainable construction does not always mean new construction.”
The award underscores DZ HYP's commitment to actively shaping the transformation of the real estate industry toward sustainability.
