Personnel change at DZ HYP’s Management Board
18.11.2022
Dr Georg Reutter to leave the Bank with effect from 31 July 2023
Following a 15-year tenure on DZ HYP’s Management Board, including 14 years as its Spokesman and Chairman, Dr Georg Reutter will leave the Bank with effect from 31 July 2023. It was with regret that the Supervisory Board acknowledged Dr Reutter’s request that for personal reasons he did not wish to not extend his office for another term. Uwe Fröhlich, Co-Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of DZ BANK and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DZ HYP, commented after the most recent Supervisory Board meeting: “Dr Reutter joined the Bank – then DG HYP – at a time when the impact of the financial and sovereign debt crisis was at its height. With his strong personality and clearly-structured strategic thinking, Dr Reutter succeeded in returning the Company to calmer waters. Today we are proud that DZ HYP has evolved into Germany’s biggest Pfandbrief issuer. Dr Reutter oversaw DZ HYP’s strategic realignment and restructuring – in a calm and targeted manner. We would like to thank him for his outstanding personal commitment and excellent work, and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Sabine Barthauer to succeed Dr Reutter
The Supervisory Board has appointed Sabine Barthauer as Dr Reutter’s successor: she will be appointed Chairperson and will assume responsibility for all front-office units with effect from 1 August 2023. Ms Barthauer has been a member of DZ HYP’s Management Board since 1 January 2021. Her portfolio of responsibilities includes the back-office units as well as Legal, Restructuring & Recovery as well as Risk Controlling. “With Sabine Barthauer, a renowned real estate finance expert will succeed Dr Reutter. Ms Barthauer has already demonstrated her skills as a seasoned Management Board member at DZ HYP. We look forward to continuing our cooperation in her new role”, said Uwe Fröhlich.
A decision on Ms Barthauer’s successor in the functions of Management Board member responsible for the back office and Chief Risk Officer will be taken in due course.
