Sabine Barthauer to succeed Mr Salber with effect from 1 January 2021

After nearly 14 successful years, Manfred Salber is stepping down from the Management Board of DZ HYP as at 31 December 2020. As of 1 January 2021, his successor Sabine Barthauer will assume responsibility for the Back Office units, as well as for the Restructuring & Recovery and Risk Controlling divisions.

“Manfred Salber has made a significant contribution to the successful development of DZ HYP in the last 14 years. He successfully established a new, consistent and transparent risk strategy, which enabled us to act in a client-focused manner that is economically sustainable at the same time”, said Dr Georg Reutter, Chief Executive Officer of DZ HYP, summing up his colleague’s accomplishments.

Uwe Fröhlich, Co-Chairman of DZ BANK’s Board of Managing Directors and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DZ HYP, added: “With Manfred Salber’s departure, we are bidding farewell to a colleague for whom the relationship with the cooperative banks was always particularly important. He helped establish DZ HYP as a respected partner for the German cooperative banks, providing the Cooperative Financial Services Network with products for joint financing solutions, as well as a new rating application. We would like to thank Mr Salber for his commitment and outstanding work, and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Manfred Salber held various positions with the German Cooperative Financial Network since 1995, before moving to the Management Board of what is now DZ HYP in March 2007.
