Uwe Fröhlich elected new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DZ HYP AG

Uwe Fröhlich, General Executive Manager of DZ BANK AG, has assumed the Chair of DZ HYP's Supervisory Board with effect from 1 August 2018. On the 8th of August, Mr Fröhlich chaired the inaugural Supervisory Board meeting of DZ HYP, the institution created from the merger between DG HYP and WL Bank. Mr Fröhlich succeeds Uwe Berghaus, who will continue to serve as a member of DZ HYP's Supervisory Board.
Having chaired the National Association of German Cooperative Banks (Bundesverband der Deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken e.V. – "BVR") since 2008, Uwe Fröhlich joined DZ BANK in November 2017. As a General Executive Manager, he is responsible for business with cooperative banks and the Cooperative Financial Network, Capital Markets, Retail Clients and Structured Finance, DZ BANK's international branches and representative offices, and for coverage of cooperative banks in Bavaria, the Sparda banks, and PSD banks.
Effective 1 January 2019, Uwe Fröhlich and Dr Cornelius Riese, member of DZ BANK AG's Board of Managing Directors, will assume leadership of DZ BANK, as co-Chairmen of the Board of Managing Directors – succeeding Wolfgang Kirsch who will retire at the end of 2018.
