DZ HYP takes over financing for Upper West in Berlin

DZ HYP is providing acquisition financing for Upper West in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The property is centrally located on Breitscheidplatz, directly opposite the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and just a few steps away from Kurfürstendamm. At around 120 meters high, the Upper West is one of the tallest buildings in the city and a striking landmark in Berlin's skyline. 

Acquired by the Schoeller Group, the building combines various types of use in a mixed-use concept. It has high-quality office and retail space as well as a hotel with around 600 rooms, which is operated by the Motel One Group. The architecture is characterized by a modern glass and steel façade. 

Particular emphasis was placed on sustainability during the development: The Upper West has been awarded both the DGNB Gold Certificate and LEED Platinum certification. It thus meets the highest standards for energy-efficient and environmentally conscious construction.
