DZ HYP achieved a very satisfactory result in 2023, despite the major challenges it faced. Thanks to a consistent and conservative risk strategy, the Bank can draw on a resilient portfolio and also has a very good client base. The bank's business model is proving to be sustainably viable.
The persistently tense market situation, which was accompanied by another significant decline in the volume of commercial property transactions and a noticeable reluctance to invest in the private residential property market - characterised in particular by high inflation and construction interest rates - also had an impact on DZ HYP's new business activities. Across all business divisions, the volume of new business totalled EUR 8.6 billion and was therefore below the previous year's figure of EUR 10.4 billion, in line with expectations.
