DZ HYP signs the UN Principles for Responsible Banking

• Bank underlines its commitment to sustainable action by joining the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI)
• Transparent communication on ongoing sustainability initiatives

DZ HYP has undertaken to observe the UN Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB). By signing the Principles, a framework launched by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) alongside banks worldwide, the Bank is actively supporting the promotion of responsible banking practices and contributing to the sustainable finance agenda. Specifically, the Bank pledges to report regularly on the sustainability activities anchored in its business strategy. 

Sabine Barthauer, CEO of DZ HYP, said: “By signing the Principles for Responsible Banking, we want to send a clear signal about the relevance of sustainable business practices. In our core business activity of real estate finance, we can leverage our commitment to speed up the transformation of the sector, thereby playing our part in helping to achieve climate neutrality.” 

Aligning its practice to the PRB will allow the Bank to continue aligning its actions closely with its sustainability goals in the future. Since the 2024 financial year, DZ HYP has been detailing its progress transparently in accordance with the 2/2 European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), an internationally recognised framework for sustainability reporting
