Supervisory Board appoints Sabine Barthauer as a member of the Management Board

At its most recent meeting, the Supervisory Board of DZ HYP appointed Ms Sabine Barthauer as successor to Manfred Salber, who will be leaving DZ HYP’s Management Board on 31 December 2020. Accordingly, Ms Barthauer will assume responsibility for all back-office units, as well as for Restructuring & Recovery and Risk Controlling. Sabine Barthauer has been a member of the Board of Managing Directors of Deutsche Hypothekenbank Actien-Gesellschaft (“Deutsche Hypo”) since August 2016, where her responsibilities include the real estate financing business as well as Structured Finance, Real Estate Investment Banking, Syndication and Treasury. Uwe Fröhlich, Chairman of DZ HYP’s Supervisory Board, commented after the meeting: “With Sabine Barthauer we are delighted to have been able to attract such a renowned real estate finance expert; we are very much looking forward to working together with her.”
Sabine Barthauer was born in Brunswick, Germany, in 1966. After completing her vocational training as a banker, Ms Barthauer held various positions in NORD/LB’s commercial real estate financing business and successfully completed additional training as a savings bank economist. Ms Barthauer gained initial management experience as a group leader from 1993 to 2001, before assuming a position as the head of NORD/LB's domestic real estate financing department for four years, followed by another four years as head of the international real estate financing department. She transferred to Deutsche Hypo in 2008, where she became department head of structured financing and international business. Thereafter, in 2014 she became head of the commercial real estate financing department at NORD/LB, which reports directly to the Board of Managing Directors; in 2015, she was appointed deputy to the member of Deutsche Hypo’s Board of Managing Directors responsible for markets.
